Tell me the time when you have been very frustrated with some one and what have you done to come over that situation and how did you handle it?
Answer: I was new to the team of 5 and joined as SSE. There was just 1 SME/module lead , as the team size grew beyond 15, the manager decided to increase the SME/lead for each test level. I was chosen along with 3 new persons and the existing SME was no longer SME, and was asked to report to me. He was disappointed and started to revolt within the team and was not completing the work on time. I asked for manager for advise, but he did not want to talk so early with senior resource and asked to wait for 2-3 weeks. His behavior was rude in team meeeting and finally i decided to give him additional responsibility to mentor freshers in my team. And this solved the problem.
Tell me the time when you faced the problem and how did you solve that problem by yourself (related to testing)
Answer: I was involved in Automation testing in Accenture. We were automating regression suite for BSW project (web application) and a particular button "Start Packaging", on button click using playback automation script it was working fine for over a month.
But later on "Start Packaging" button click using the automation script the application started to freeze, and manually the "Start Packaging" button click it was working fine.
Tried to update OR to capture any changes, executed in different environment, checked on previous release code to see if new release is causing it. It did not work. Then used descriptive programming and it didn't work. Since there was no change in environment/code, thought QTP was behaving differently. I suggested we reach out to HP for help. HP tried with various suggestions for 1 week and finally provided solution that double click might work. Used descriptive programming and it did solve the button problem.
