PaaS potentials have been raised into the Azure SQL database which enables us to focus on the domain specified database administration and also optimization activities critical for the business.

In the Azure data, we keep on producing the fully available and also the high-performance data storage layer for the applications and also the solutions in the Azure. SQL database will be a good choice for the different modern cloud applications because it enables us to process both relational data and non-relational structures like graphs, JSON, and XML. Azure SQL has been based upon the modern version of the Microsoft SQL Server database engine where we can use advanced query processing features like high-performance in-memory technology and also intelligence query processing.

Structured query language database relation will allow us to define the scale performance within the two different purchasing models and the v core. It is based upon the purchasing model and DTU based purchasing model.

Deployment models

Azure SQL database which provides deployment options for the database have been listed:

Single database

Elastic pool

Single database: this database will represent a completely managed isolated database where we might use the option if we have modern cloud application and microservices which needs a single reliable data source. The single database will be similar to the database in the SQL server database engine.

Elastic pool: this is the gathering of the single database with the shared set of resources like CPU or memory. The single database will be moved into and out of the elastic pool.

Differences between SQL data and Azure data options

The most key thing is the difference between the SQL data and SQL server as well as the difference among different Azure data options:

SQL database relation will give the details of the predictable performance with the multiple resources types, service tiers, and computer size it will provide dynamic scalability with no downtime and built-in intelligence optimization, global scalability with security options.

The potentials will enable us to focus on the rapid app development and accelerating out time to time market rather than on managing virtual machines and infrastructure.

Scalable performance and pools:

The single database for each of the database relation will be isolated from the other tools which is portable and each will have its own guaranteed amount which will compute.

A number of resources which has been assigned to the database will be not shared with other databases in the Azure, and we can dynamically scale single database resources up and down.

The single database option will provide various compute, memory, and also storage which provides different needs.

With the elastic pool we can assign the resources which will be shared by all database in the pool. We can create the new database or move the present single database into the resource pool to maximise the use of the resources to save money. These choices will give a chance to dynamically scale elastic pool resources up and down, where we can build the first app on small single database as very low cost per month in the general service tier.

We can make the change of the service tier by hand or programmatically at any time of the business-critical service tier which will meet the needs of our solution where we can also adjust performance without downtime to our app.

Dynamically scalability will allow the database to be transparent which will respond to rapidly changing resources requirements.

Questions

What is Azure SQL database? explain

Azure SQL database which is the program as a service (PaaS) database process which will take care of most of the database management functions like modifying and patching, etc. Azure SQL database will run on the latest and also the stable version of the SQL database engine with the OS 99.99% availability.
