The software testing is performed at every level of software development with specific objective&nbsp; and by IT professionals. This ensures early defect detection and fixing. The test manager is hired when there are many testing groups. The number of testers and testing groups depends on the software testing workload. The test manager has below major roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>prepares test strategy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>prepare the test budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>define test levels and test cycles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop strategy for estimating test effort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop strategy for test documentation, metrics and reporting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>guides and controls the testing teams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>co ordinates with the test leaders and project manger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>gathers the updates on testing progress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identify the risk and priorities for testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>design the testing approach, procedures\u00a0 and techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identify, evaluate and choose the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.h2kinfosys.com\/blog\/software-testing-using-testing-tools\/\">testing tools<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>set the strategy on the automation testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>co ordinate with other teams for software releases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Test leader:<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each test group is led by a test leader. The test leader performs the roles of test manager in absence of test manager. In addition to that, test leader roles and responsibilities are listed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>prepare the test plan at each test level based on test strategy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>define the objectives, test items, approaches, risk, contingencies in testing process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>assign roles and provide schedule to testers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identify the test specifications test activities for testers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>gather metrics and track the testing progress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>define entry and exit criteria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>define test environment and monitor the set up process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>design test documents templates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>set up the configuration management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lead and conduct the meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>review the test documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>co ordinate in the testing group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>monitor the testing and co ordinate the software release<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>resolve the issues in the test groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>guide the testers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>prepare the test summary report<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>co ordinate for automation testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Testers:<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The testers group can comprise of entry level testers, senior testers, performance testers, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Automation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">automation<\/a> testers and testers performing specific tests.
